Lydden Hill is a race track in South Kent, between Canterbury and Dover. It’s a brilliant race track with a unique dirt road section that is highly entertaining. I went to the Classic and Modern car race on the 12th October and despite the rain, it was a great day out.
My passion in photography stems from my fascination in individual characters. I love walking around the paddock and photographing the drivers, team members and the sense of family surrounding these events. One benefit I had (partially thanks to the rain) was that the track was pretty much empty. There were about 20 spectators and double that number in staff, making it much easier to get around the track and really isolate my subjects.
My favourite image from this shoot is the Morgan with the yellow umbrella covering the driver’s seat. The driver was quietly reading a book and eating a sandwich whilst waiting for his race to start at 12:45. I went over to him and we chatted for 5 minutes or so, he had driven down from Worcester for the day. Lovely chap, and he came first in his race!
Street Journals is an ongoing passion project of mine. It highlights my approach to street photography and features other photographers who inspire me.

Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV
I spotted this Alfa - specifically an Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV - while out on a Sunday stroll in a small English village. I left a note on the owner’s car and executed the shoot the following week. I wanted to shoot the Alfa paying particular attention to the idyllic country surroundings. In preparation for the shoot I spent an afternoon exploring a few sites in the area that I thought had potential, making particular note of the surroundings, the light and the direction of the sun.
On the day of the shoot we couldn’t have asked for better weather. The cloud cover provided a wide diffused light that helped to show off the car’s sheen and unique green colour. It’s painted in an unusual shade called Verde Oliva, or olive green, which sits amiably in green surroundings and contrasts gently with the dusty orange of the ample old brick in the area.
Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV - Behind the scenes
The Jaguar XJS. Easily one of my favourite cars to photograph. Notice the gorgeous curve along the rear window.
“Gone Fishing” is a faux billboard created for Land Rover. The concept came from storyboarding different ideas relating to an “above the line” brief. I wanted to make the imagery more about the experience rather than the product.
This project is incredibly personal and one of my favourite projects to date. James has Muscular Dystrophy, a condition that affects motor skills in his hands, knees and hips. His car is what helps him go that little bit further and of course, faster.
Audi S3 - Behind the scenes
Land Rover Off-roading
This series was taken during an off-roading event somewhere in the English countryside. Mud, Land Rovers and weird English weather, what’s not to love?
Special edition Country Defenders tearing around the English countryside.
Noah Stratton-Twine | Cedar Roost
These are a collection of film posters created by Director Noah Stratton-Twine for 3 short films;
- I want it back!
- Young, Young Men
Noah hired me to photograph the promo imagery for all these films and create behind the scenes content for social media.
Noah is a colleague who I’ve worked with for a number of years now and watching his process is very inspiring. I always get excited sending him the final images because I know whatever he publishes it’s going to be creative, whacky and bold.
A dear friend of mine and a fantastic musician, Mat (O MATÆUS) is always a pleasure to work with and nearly always agrees to my slightly “out-there” ideas for our shoots.
The Bubble Bros are a unique Prosecco company, serving out of milk vans repurposed into Prosecco dispensers. These images were taken at Vinegar Yard on a very bright and Sunny day. The atmosphere in London on a day like this is incredible.
Grean Tea Productions BTS
I took these behind the scenes images and for Grean Tea Productions and Liv Austen. The shoot was a music video and we spent the day in a school that had been turned into housing under the Guardian Angels scheme. A very interesting day and a lot of fun.
Crossfit Shoreditch is a gym in East London. I shot these images shortly after their refurbishment and re-launch. It’s a great space and the huge Greenhouse-like roof panelling creates a huge light source, filling the room with soft daylight.
